Vineyard Area55 Hectares of which 3 Hectares were selected for the production of Le Page Rosé. Date of HarvestFrom October 10th to October 16th Climatic ConditionsWinter was rainy which supplied the soil water reserve. The unusually cool temperatures led to a late bud break which began on April 26th with the Merlot of La Colline plot.Spring temperatures were also below average and vines’ vegetation development was late. Flowering took place in a warm weather which allowed a uniform and steady fruit setting.Summer was sunny and dry (some rare rainfall events allowed the vines to go through the summer season without any important hydric stress) and temperatures were not too high. From September, temperature variations between days and nights were very important which permitted grape skins to be perfectly ripped.Harvest started on September 25th with the Merlot of La Colline plot and ended on October 27th with the Cabernet Sauvignon of Chantemerle plot. The dry and cool October weather led to harvest perfectly healthy grapes.2010 was a vine-grower vintage. We had to be patient and harvest each variety and each plot at its optimum ripeness. Soil TypeLimestone and clay mixed with gravels.
